National Recovery Month: By the Numbers

As we observe National Recovery Month this September, we want to highlight the importance of recovery, offer valuable resources, and keep you informed about local events and tools available to support individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.

Community Profiles Dashboard

The Community Profiles dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of health and social indicators within our health district. It is a valuable tool for understanding community-level data, which can inform strategies and interventions aimed at supporting recovery and promoting overall well-being.

The “Opioid & Drug Overdose Statistics” page leverages the CT Department of Public Health State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS) dashboard to focus on HVHD towns as it relates to injury city, residency city, and death city.

Access HVHD’s Community Profiles Dashboard here.

CT DPH SUDORS Dashboard

The Connecticut Department of Public Health’s Substance Use Disorder and Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS) dashboard offers critical insights into substance use trends across the state. By analyzing this data, we can better understand the impact of substance use on our communities and tailor our prevention and recovery efforts accordingly.

Explore the CT DPH SUDORS Dashboard here.

CDC SUDORS Dashboard

In addition to the state-level data, the CDC’s Substance Use Disorder and Overdose Response Surveillance (SUDORS) dashboard offers a national perspective on substance use and overdose trends. This tool is essential for understanding the broader context of the opioid epidemic, allowing us to compare local data with national trends and implement best practices from across the country.
