Happy National Immunization Awareness Month! As we come together to focus on the upcoming respiratory virus season, we are excited to share important insights from the HVHD 2023 Flu Vaccine Dashboard and reflect on last year’s Respiratory Virus Statistics from CT DPH while also highlighting other HVHD Immunization Services.
Key Findings from the HVHD Dashboards:
Our recent data highlights health indicators as it relates to immunization awareness among HVHD towns (New Milford, Oxford, Sharon, Southbury, Washington, Woodbury):
- Routine Immunizations – HVHD offers routine immunizations (i.e. flu, diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough (DTaP), polio, measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), chickenpox (varivax), pneumococcal (prevnar), meningococcal (meningitis), tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap), hepatitis a, and hepatitis b) by appointment. During FY23-24, HVHD administered the following routine immunizations, excluding flu vaccines. Click here to learn more about HVHD’s Community Health Services, including routine immunizations.
- HVHD 2023 Flu Vaccine Clinics – During the 2023 flu vaccine clinic season, HVHD administered over 1,400 flu vaccines. Flu vaccine recipients were predominately from CT and ages 75+ (n=330), 65-74 (232), and 45-54 (n=221). Click here to view the 2023 HVHD Flu Clinic Dashboard.
- Respiratory Viral Disease Vaccine Coverage – During the 2023 Flu and COVID-19 vaccination season (July 2023 – March 2024), Southbury and Washington residents received the most COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines among all ages. The dashboard below shows the cumulative number and percentage of people who have received at least one 2023-2024 COVID-19 or influenza vaccine by town and age group (all ages, less than 18 years, 18 years and over) from the first week in July 2023 to the week ending in March 9, 2024. The analysis shown below is based on data reported to CT WIZ, the immunization information system for CT.
